Organize with tags

One bookmark can fit more than one part of your life.

A color contrast checker can have Design, Tools, and Work tags. You do not need to choose a single folder or make several copies of the link.

Tags are filters

Select a tag above your bookmark list to show links with that tag. Select another to narrow the list to links with every selected tag. Pinport offers tags that still have matches in the current selection.

Remove a selected tag to widen the results, or clear filters to start again. Search and tag filters work together. Learn how to find bookmarks →

Add tags when you save or edit

1. Open a new bookmark, or choose Edit in an existing bookmark’s details.
2. In Tags, choose an existing tag or type a new one and press Enter or Add. Commas and semicolons also add a tag.
3. Choose Save to keep your changes.

Tags exist because bookmarks use them. There is no separate empty folder to create. Start with two or three useful labels, and add more when you need them.

Keep useful tags close

In Settings → Tags, choose favorite tags to prioritize in the filter suggestions. Favorites change what is easy to reach; they do not move or duplicate bookmarks.

Rename a tag

Open Settings → Tags, find the tag, and choose Rename. The change applies to every bookmark using that tag. Renaming to an existing tag combines them.

Delete a tag

In Settings → Tags, choose Delete for a tag. This removes the label from its bookmarks; it does not delete the bookmarks themselves.

Tag several bookmarks together

Use Select mode in your library, choose the bookmarks, and edit their tags together. See bulk actions for how adding and removing tags affects a selection.

Moving from folders

During import, each folder name becomes a tag. A bookmark in Work → Research gets Work and Research. Existing tags in the HTML file are kept too. You can simplify or rename those labels after the import.
