Keep your library useful

A little maintenance goes a long way.

Give untagged links a home

Choose Untagged in the library’s filters to find bookmarks without tags. Add a topic or a purpose to the links you expect to revisit. Use Select mode to tag a group at once.

Review Needs attention

Pinport checks saved pages in the background. If a link appears gone, unreachable, or moved, it can appear under Needs attention. Open its details to see what happened.

What you see	What to do
A page has moved	Check the destination, then choose Use the new URL if it is the right page.
A page is gone or unreachable	Try opening the link yourself. Pinport may find an archived copy you can open or use instead.
The link still matters	Choose Keep anyway to dismiss the warning without deleting the bookmark.

A failed automated check is not proof that a page is permanently gone. Sites can be temporarily down or block automated requests. Archived copies are not guaranteed to be available.

Leave a note for later

“Useful” is easy to forget. “The color contrast examples for the checkout redesign” explains why you saved the page and gives search more context.

Make cleanup a small habit

Once in a while, review Read later, merge tags that mean the same thing, and remove links you no longer need. You do not have to classify everything. Start with the bookmarks you actually use.

Keep a portable backup

Export your library before a large cleanup. The HTML file includes your saved link data; it is not a backup of the websites themselves. Read about import and export →
